A box of goodies arrived from Grandma Kay today! The kids were quick to start putting on the window decals; it was a full hour of entertainment for them!

St. Patricks Day

St. Patricks Day was fun for all of us, but separately this year. Brooklyn was chompin at the bit to head up to Dayton for her friend, Grace's birthday party. I was woke up at 5:30 this morning telling me all about how Jen painted her fingers pink and how I should LOOK at them! She told me how she played Eyeore family and babies all day, ate penguins, played piano, played in the leaves, tried to run and get the dogs, and there was a BIG, REALLY BIG butterfly with bracelets, candy and stickers in it (a pinata)!
Dylan on the other hand was very curious about his little cousin, X again! Apparently he likes to check him out, but D doesn't think that anyone should hold him, and gets a little jealous when he sees Mimi, Uncle Steve or his new buddy Jen holding another baby! lol.
Jens' dogs Dakota & Bella were there too. Brooklyn has yet to stop talking about Bella this morning, and in fact, just said we need to get a dog. Gut feeling Dylan would second that!
Sean & I on the other hand, headed in to Cincinnati for a little Irish music on Fountain Square, then over to the Duke Energy Center where cousin Hillary came up for a fencing tournament with her team! Sonya, Steve, Jenna, Sharon & Antoinette all drove up from Lexinton & all of us went over to Cinci on 6th for dinner and to watch UK game!

Brooklyn safe Playdough!!

We found a wheat free version & went to town making noodle shapes.

My little helper!

Spaghetti face guy!

READY TO CHEER ON THEIR WILDCATS!

So I see many of you continue to check in on my procrastination! LOL. Here's what's been happening over the last month!
Dylan had his 1 year check-up on 2/24/12. He was 19.63 lbs (6%), and 29.50 inches tall (32%)and 15.85 BMI. We think he eats a LOT and were very suprised he was only in the 6th percentile. Docs didn't seem too concerned either; he's a healthy boy! And he must be growing as he's now in a size 4 shoe too.
He started walking about 2 weeks after his birthday. He'll try and run down the hallway to see if he can make it to splash in the toilet before we catch him. He gets excited though & usually plops down on his bum before getting anywhere quickly.... thus far! He's mastered going up and down the stairs, dunking a basketball, and being a mama's boy; crying every stinkin time I drop him off at daycare, and sometimes when I just walk out of a room. He's hasn't expanded the vocabulary much, sticking with mama & dada, but he has added a lot of "bladder, bladder, bladder, bladder, bladder." (just say it quickly and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!) He's developing more of a personality every day. Today it was 82 degrees, so we went for a walk. We
were heading up the driveway & two teenage girls go walkin by. No kiddin', he turned and walked down to the girls & flashed them his big smile and a "bladder, bladder, bladder." LOL, Mr. Social. His prize bedtime possession is still his little dog blanket and daytime it's a mix of balls & books- he holds the book in his left hand and dunks a ball with his right. He has 3 favorite books right now, the mini sesame street book, a library book about colors, and one about transportation vehicles. He's down to a nap & bedtime bottle only.
Brooklyn is still a chatterbox and very curious about everyday things. She takes a nap about 25% of the time, and if she doesn't sleep, she's very good about staying in her room & looking at books (or dressing up like a balerina!)She's trying to learn how to read more words and comes up with her own words to try and spell with magnet letters. When she gets frustrated, she's also very good at stomping her foot; a new expression her mommy and daddy are not excited about, and we're working it out with her. She's also trying to stay dry overnight, and thinks it's a big privledge to wear underwear to bed overnight. In fact, her cousin Quinton just turned 13 and she asked him if he's now old enough to "drive a car & wear underwear to bed!" LOL She also was invited to her first birthday party, for Izzy & Claire. She was so excited to go, pick out gifts & help wrap their presents. Since then, she's been wrapping things from around the house in a blanket, etc. and telling us she has a surprise for us, to close our eyes! She also thinks she has an "amazing magic trick." She holds both hands behind her back & you have to guess which hand she's holding something in. She switches the item from hand to hand so it only apprears when she says so. Then she tells you how she does her trick! (Not exactly a magician huh Joe or dad!)
As for the rest of the family, we had a mixed bag of events occur within a two week period. I had a trip to Columbus for work and while I was gone, Mimi & Sean both got a very bad virus. Grandpers came over to help with the kids, and he got it too. From there, it has oddly spread to 12 family members. Sadly, Seans' grandmother also passed on Feb. 27th. She of course will be greatly missed. The night we were heading out to the visitation, we decided to wait an extra 15 minutes due to a bad storm. Luckily, we did because an F4 tornado passed by ~10 minutes from our home. Sean also received a promotion at work this same week. As of now, he's one week into doing the job of two people. They will be redefining his role in the new position in the next few weeks, but until then, he is very busy and studying for his next certification as well.
