Shopping trip in the near future?

Yesterday, someone woke up completely dry, wore underwear all day & made it to the potty on time. While her diaper wasn't dry this morning, we're off to a great start otherwise!

crazy weather worth noting

FROM WCPO: We are oh so close to realizing our wettest month on record. Officially we have had 13.52 inches of rain this month and that is less than .25 inch shy of the all-time record that was established in January of 1937.
Clean-up is now underway in several parts of the Tri-State hit by tornadoes or high winds on Saturday. If you look around Decoursey Pike and Visalia Road, you can see the damage left behind from the destructive power of an EF-0 tornado with winds of 64 to 85 miles an hour. Still the rest of us anxiously watch the rising flood waters of several major rivers.

At Covington Landing, spectators can see exactly how high the Ohio River is running as it reaches for a projected crest of 56 feet or higher Monday night or Tuesday morning. Nearby, Riverside Drive in Covington, where the Mike Fink boat is moored, is completely covered in flood waters from the Suspension Bridge to the Licking River.

It's worth noting that where this tornado hit is just 10 minutes from our home. We did see the damage on our way to Mimi's for Easter. Louisville, St. Louis, & parts of Alabama have all been on the news lately too, from tornados & flooding.
Government analysts said there were 362 tornadoes during the outbreak, including a record-setting 312 in one 24-hour period.

Also in the news, Prince William & Kate Middleton married today in England. No, I didn't get up at 5am to begin watching, I'm more of a recap girl today!

Easter 2011

Well G-ma & Uncle Joe have already mentioned they're going to check the blog today for Easter pics so I better "HOP" to it! Ok, lame, I know. Anyway......
Easter was great this year. Brooklyn spotted her Easter basket hiding in her wagon right away. She pulled out a Dora game for her click start & that was it, asking me if she could play. She kind of ignored the rest of it for awhile, & then took off to wake Sean; guess she was waiting for him b/c then she ripped right in to the rest of it. For those of you wondering, she did have candy in her basket: pez, skittles, lollipop, & gummy bears. She kind of by-passed the Dora socks & stickers! Dylan did get a basket too, a few board books.
After a VERY long Mass, we headed over to Mimi's a superb luncheon. Dylan woke right when we got there to the sounds of many new voices, but seemed to be most comfy in Steph's arms. Mere's friends from Dayton that were at our house for Christmas came down again, plus some of Steves' family came over for a big Easter Egg hunt. Mere was nice enough to create a little Brooklyn area w/ her candies, bracelets, stick-on earings etc. in them & the bigger kids had the rest of the yard. Then came the confetti eggs! I'm not sure how many dozen they made but I think I saw at least 3 going around. Fun to smash on each other & everyone gets really into it!! Overall, B's favorite part of the day had to be the two kittens & Buddy. WHY those kittens didn't figure out that they should RUN FAST when B came around, I'm not quite sure. She tried to pick them up by their tails, dropped one, told me she stepped on one 'just a little bit,' and when we were about to leave, she was holding one around its neck. Eye yie yie. Glad they lived thru that. (and please no one write me to ask why I wasn't keeping a better eye on my child...my nephew already says I'm like a paranoid cat.)
She passed out in the back seat, as did Dylan. We tried to wake her to use the potty & take a bath but she was so out of it, she practically fell off the toilet & had to sit while I dried her hair. She fell back asleep in my arms during the 20 feet walk to her bed around 7:15 & woke around 7 the next morning! Sean & I had enough time to head downstairs & watch Burn After Reading. (A story pretty much about nothing, but somehow we talked about it for at least an hour afterwards. watch it,you'll understand.)

Wicked weather put a damper on today's' original plans to head to Keenland & meet up with some of our Florida family. Forecasters said 3-4inches of rain by the end of the weekend. I've got a good feelin' my uncle is a little tired of being white knuckled driving thru all this rain, but they came on up here for a visit. Brooklyn was surprisingly shy at first given the amount of time we've skyped & talked with them. Devin again claimed he was afraid to hold a baby but Mark laid Dylan in his arms regardless, & he was a natural!
Kids are now both sleeping. Dylan is in his Easter pj's; white ones with blue bunnies on them from Mimi...she does seem to find the cutest holiday gear for the kids! B is snuggling with a new purple bunny from our neighbors tonight. I put a pair of 2T summer pj's on Brooklyn & the shirt was a half shirt!! She must be growing like crazy- this past week she's going thru double helpings of lunch & dinner! I'll be fulling switching to 3T's before I know it.
I just finished putting their Easter baskets together. I came across Good Earth brand Easter candy so she does have a soy chocolate bunny, lollipops, gummy worms, jelly beans, & skittles for her candy. (she's never seen so much candy before!!) A new Dora game for her Clickstart, sunglasses, bathing suit, & sidewalk chalk round her out. Dylans' getting some Easter board books this year.
She saw a bunny hopping in our backyard this morning & thought that it was the Easter bunny! I asked her where she thought he was going to hide her basket of goodies & she replied 'in my wagon.' Soooooo, guess where it is.

Conversing with his white tiger, Dylan is doing a great job holding his head up for longer periods of time.

Ok, so I'm sitting here drinking this new RedBridge Gluten Free Beer that Sean found, & I'm really enjoying it, and hoping beer battered fish is in the near future. Sean had his third week of just him & two kids today & it's the first day I didn't get a grumbling phone call at work. lol. Dylan graced him by giving him 1st view of him rolling over! 3x's today. :-)
I love the gift he's given me too- sleeping thru the night. Since the 13th, he goes down around 9 & wakes around 6. He'll sleep a little longer & then awake to talk to his bug mobile. I'll head in & he just grins from ear to ear & is super playful first thing in the morning. My favorite part of the day.

Brooklyn has been doing a great job with her potty training. She's finally starting to tell us when she has to go & has only had 1 (daytime) accident since Friday morning. She really loves to earn Dora time!
She cracked us up at dinner again.
Me: Brooklyn, ready to get down & go take a bath?
B: "no, get a washcloth & wash my hands, then I'll play for a little bit, then take a shower, then get my kitty & my Julie Kremer blanket & watch a Dora, then read a book, then take my nap. AND THAT'S HOW WE DO IT!"
She's really getting into her Busytown Matching game, is learning the alphabet sign language, & all about the calendar (days of the week, months, & seasons. Aydan was over on Thursday & played hide n go seek with her. Sean played with her on Sat while I fed Dylan. One time she had a great hiding spot under the exersaucer & he really couldn't find her. She stuck her head out & said 'I'm hiding under here, DAAAD." lol.
Weather is getting warmer so a good part of this week for me was spent switching out winter to spring/summer clothes as well as they're each going up a size. Brooklyn is heading into 3T's....more her shirts b/c her torso is long. She's in a 5 1/2 shoe now, but getting ready for 6's. Dylans' in 3-6 mos. I've got a feeling he's going to grow fast on us.

So, this is one part that wasn't easier the second time a' round: Dropping kids off for their first day of daycare! I was fine all the way up to the driveway, & getting him out of his car seat I could feel the waterworks starting. :-( Brooklyn didn't make it any easier saying she wanted today to be a mommy day, & not go to Ms. Christine's!
I recieved a text around 3 saying that Dylan was doing fine, & that Brooklyn has been dry all day with her pull-up, and was asking about Dora? (if she tells me she has to go & gets to the potty on time, she earns a Dora show) Yes, I'm bribing. No I don't care. She's shown interest in a potty for almost a year, & its frustrating me that she knows what to do but is "too busy" to do what she's supposed to. In time, this 'frustration' will seem so minor to other parenting moments I'm sure.

2 mos doc visit

Sorry, lil guy, this wasn't a fun visit for you. 3 shots, Rotovirus, & then some other unmentionables. But you're all good & let's just say mom will stick with certain docs in the practice from here forward.
Your stats are 12.5 lbs (65%), 24.5 in (89%) & 14.64 BMI.
They've recommended Similac Soy (for fusiness/gas)for you as an alternate for you; hopefully it doesn't stink or stain as much as the Allimentum did!

Brooklyn is supervising as I bring out the Easter decorations. Mimi bought her a new kitty Friday since her favorite kitty is, well, lets just say it barely has a neck left! She was starting a smooth transition, but it has renewed her interest in all 5 of her cats!

It's no April Fools joke....Sean found out today his sister is pregnant!
