IT's Opening Day!! Doesn't my little man look handsome in his baseball uniform!! So, how did the Reds do? Ramon Hernandez hit a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday, rallying the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in an opening-day flashback to their NL Central title season. This is the first year Opening Day is noton the first Monday in April, they moved it up to the last Thursday in March....who knows why! Invited our neighbors over for some ballpark grub for dinner: hot dogs, nachos & beer!
I decided to include the second picture because it's the closest I've come to capturing a smile so far. He's talking to the ceiling fan!! Best 'toy' we've got thus far. lol. He's really starting to coo & talk to everyone this week; it's really cute. He smiles, & then once he realizes you've caught him smiling, he gets this stern look back on his face. Pretty funny!

Well shoot, thought I got the smile, but nope, just that stern look. Told ya! :-)

Dylans' Baptism

So, on Sunday, Fr. Heitzman baptised Dylan at St. Therese- same church where we were married & Brooklyn was baptised. We had a dusting of snow in the morning, just enough for me to second guess the sleeveless dress & peeptoe shoes, & for B to ask if she could go sled riding! Thanks to our family for coming in from out of town (Susan & Dad), it was great having you here!! And to all of our family & godparents- Julie Kremer & Greg Rushman, thanks for being a part of his special day!

It was a hard choice....do you wear blue for the UK Wildcats in the opening NCAA game or green for St. Pats day? We went with our St. Pat green, assuming our cats would win & we'd have another chance to wear the blue! WHEW! They won by 2 pts.

This past week

Headed out to my friend Paula's studio for our new family photos last Sunday & get a few of the kids. We have one of Brooklyn pushing up on her belly that I wanted to see if we could replicate with Dylan. We did; and here's the funny thing......our kids in these pictures look like freakin' twins!!! It amazes me b/c I really didn't think my kids look that much alike. I'll post them both when I get them. The other funny part of the session was that every time Paula would go to take his picture up close, he would turn his head the other way. She'd spin the basket around so he'd face her, & he'd turn his head back the other way. Can we say camera shy?
Brooklyn is now starting her 4th location for daycare (same daycare instructors, mostly b/c neighbors complain about her having a home business. She's now doing this from her own home v/s renting a house until the perfect home comes available for purchase. Doesn't seem to effect B too much, or us really, as they've all been close to both our home & work. Speaking of, I head back to work on Monday. ugh. I just realized today is the last day it is just Dylan & I. (note to self- time to cuddle after this; screw the laundry folding!) He & I went to the mall yesterday to look for a baptism dress. Clothes are definitely not fitting me correctly....and my scale is lying to me too!! 10 lbs more to go. I did just get back from my 6 week doctor visit & got clearance to start workouts. Tomorrow will be outdoor exercise- expecting 68 degrees. Ahhhh....
My boss & his wife did stop over to see the baby last weekend too-they were heading off to Cancun this week. Asked him to bring back the warmth & sunshine! They gave Dylan a super soft stroller blanket & a UK blue Halo outfit...which some genius inverted the zipper so the flap is more by their ankles v/s under the chin. Love it!! Easier diaper changes.
Ok, well he's waking up, so that's my cue to hop off of here...
WOOT WOOT! Got my first block of 5 hours of sleep last night!

Pics from G-ma Kays' visit

A mix of rain & cool weather left plenty of time to stay indoors & snuggle, play & do crafts! Thanks for making the drive up- all my drawers are neatly organized (for at least the time you were here-lol)& Brooklyn says she was happy to play little people with ya!

1 Month Check up

Time flies again. I can't believe how much he's changed already. Dylan now weighs 10.18lbs, is 21.75 inches tall, hc is 14 inches. Doctor cautioned us that having such a vocal older sister that she may start to talk for him, & if so, we may see more domanate motor skills from him. Good back of the brain info. He & I had a great conversation of coo's around 2am last night, & I've certainly noticed he's getting a little more talkative these last 3 days. Brooklyn is quickly learning to share her toys & help entertain her brother.....meaning she shared her prized blue koala backpack & made it 'talk' to him. She was engaged & would talk to a Christmas bear; & it seems he's taking more notice of her backpack & mobile. He's pushing up a little now, & turning his head left to right when he's having tummy time.

Good Lord, have I ever been behind on here!!! I THINKI'm up to date, but if I forgot something, forgive me! It's been another crazy week- my first week getting back behind the wheel & getting 2 kids ready to head out the door by 8:45am. Still tweeking. Dr. Suess birthday week is happening at daycare, so I've been working on theme lunches similar to what they're having there (red fish, blue fish- jello gigglers)& just finished icing cupcakes with cat in the hat on them. Glad Brooklyn wore herself out tonight.....a bath followed by her preference to turn on the radio & have a dance party in the hallway. She skipped & twirled all over the place to Lady Gaga. lol. She's laughing & having a blast. Dylan, dancing with mommy, fell asleep. lol. My mom is also in town so its a crazy mix of play time & cleaning everything under the sun. First month doc visits, family pics, & taxes still to happen this week. Whew. I'll need a nap come Monday.
