Finally, we got to feed the giraffe's! I thought I took a picture of B feeding them, but their long purple tongues snached that cracker quick & she pulled her hand back. That's her hand in the bottom left corner! Met up with Kelly's girls after school let out. I told her last week we'd go to the zoo & every morning until today, she'd ask if she could see "Kelly, Raglly, & Kenzie."

Cincinnati Reds
Just clenched the NL Central!!! This is the first time the "Redlegs" have made it into the playoffs in 15-years (1995) with Jay Bruce's dramatic 9th inning game winning home run which defeated the Houston Astros 3-2.
More than 38,000 people poured out of Great American Ball Park after the game, many of them stopping at the square. Some carried early versions of Wednesday morning's newspaper with the headline "Reds Reign". GO REDS!

Not the results I was hoping for
Went to her allergist this morning for food testing. NO CHANGES. This is good in the way that her Mom & Dad will ensure she's eating very healthy. It also means we have to be super, super careful in the presence of certain foods to keep her safe from anaphylactic shock. The biggest welt on the top left is her Peanut allergy. Below peanut is the wheat, rye, barley & egg. Those are her 5 big ones. He's hoping by next year, cows' milk will be gone since it is smaller than her previous test showed. He egg is very high, but stats say 80% can grow out of it by age 2. Crossing my fingers, knocking on wood & giving my daughter all the hope I can.

Headed out this morning to her all favorite "dance class" at the library for Toddler Time. Today is the first day of Fall so we read books with this theme today. One was about a squirrel gathering food for winter. We then went outside for a scavenger hunt to find acorns. Once you found 3, you could turn them in for a dum-dum lollipop. It was her first one!
Now I said today was the first day of Fall. It also reached 90 degrees today. So she & Allie got to play in the sprinkler this afternoon. She laughs so much! Every time Allie takes a drink, she tries as well. I didn't have a chance to grab a camera b/c this was completely impromto. We let the dog out to go potty & went around back to turn the sprinkler on to water our trees & landscaping. Once Allie got wet, she wanted in too, clothes & all! I didn't care, she was having a blast.
She scared the living crap out of me tonight though. I asked her to go sit in her chair while I opened up the oven door, b/c dinner was ready. By the time I had it out & on the stovetop, I turned around to notice her standing on the steering wheel of her toy car & leaning over the open banister yelling "daddy, time to eat!" He was downstairs on the treadmill. One of those momments you can't figure out fast enough if you yell, will she more likely fall over or get down. Luckily, she's fine, the car is moved, my heart has returned to normal, & she has stopped crying from the fear of God that must have been in my voice.
And that's the end of our day today. I'm heading to the couch to rest!

Half way thru the pregnancy
So, at the ultrasound, I actually measured 19wks, 3 days. I've gained 9 lbs.2 oz total to date, just about the same amount I had when I was pregnant with Brooklyn. I was a bit surprised about this because it certainly seems like I'm showing much earlier.
Now that I know what I'm having, I feel like I'm in overdrive trying to find all of the end of the year clearance sales. My best finds thus far are 2 pairs of bathing suits 3-6 mos, 12-18 mos) for 1.99 each, & a pair of $30 size 5 shoes for $4.32! These are my internet finds! I haven't bought much though as I'm still sorting thru Brooklyns' tubs of clothes to see what sleepers, sweat pants etc. will be gender neutral. I've found some things, but unless he grows fast, they're going to be the wrong season! Not too worried about the 0-3 months- he & I will both be in our pj's/sleepers as we figure out our grove before heading back to work. Ok, so here's the belly pic for 4 mos!

Labor Day Weekend
I was hoping for some sleep in time this morning, but alas, only an extra 20 minutes. Brooklyn stayed up 2 hrs later than usual to watch the WEBN fireworks on TV with us in the theatre room. They never disappoint & she really enjoyed them! I asked Sean to turn up the base hoping to finally feel the baby kick, and I did recieve two quick taps! I'll take it, as they haven't been very frequent yet.
Today its a beautiful 86 degrees & clear blue skies. She & I took advantage of the early morning & headed out for a walk down to the lake to see the ducks. A little landscape work & porch clean-up time has reestablished our curb appeal. ( I think I need to buy someone a little broom so its easier for her. No slave labor here, I couldn't keep her off the broom!)
She wanted to ride her bike this morning, while holding her kitty cat. Once she discovered that wasn't working, she asked me to make her a kitty backpack which is why its stuffed in the back of her shirt!
Off to Mimi's for a Labor Day luncheon. Does anyone else feel the need to eat with their sunglasses on? :) Too cold to swim today, the pool water didn't make it above 76. She did however, receive a new outfit that made daddy super happy: UK sportswear- both with a cheerleading skirt or the basketball shorts. Just in time for football & basketball season!

Modesty
Brooklyn,
Tonight you asked Mommy to pull her shirt down. Twice. I'll remind you of this modesty when you get older & try to wear a half shirt out our front door! ;)
