Noah's soccer game

Thankfully, Noah has a Fri night soccer game I could go see, since working weekends puts a damper on those Sat. am's. Goalie first half, and Striker 2nd. The kid has more energy & goes after the ball like wildfire so as he gets older, I see more of the striker position in his future!
B played hard with the other two boys on the sidelines, trying to dribble the ball, then picking it up & running away from them! She came over with the adults towards the end, & yelled for Noah from the sideline with me: 'Go Noah! Mark Up! SHOOT IT!"
She was super excited to run over to the team & get Noah when the game was over. Unfortunately, they lsot, but he played great!
She went to bed 2 hours past her usual time, and this is our 2nd day without taking a nap. Not that I didn't try for the nap, she just sat in her bed, talking & playing. Occasionaly, I'd hear "mommy, I'm done!" Needless to say, someone was snoring on the way home, & I have a quick minute to write up a morning blog! :)

I am SO not ready for nap time to be over!

Seasonal Allergy testing

You're not gonna believe this one! What is one things B loves? Cats & dogs. Her highest allgerin is cat! In this order: cat, tree polen, mold, dog dander. So, its allergy meds season round, & we won't be getting her a kitten for her 2nd birthday after all. :( She was tested for pet dander & saliva at her original visit @ 9 mos. old, so I was very surprised they were even retesting this. They said they were testing a different strain, & her body was still adjusting. It's all confusing, she's been around cats a number of times, & no sneezing, itching etc. But have her outside in the spring, cut some grass & disturb the pollen...& watch out weezing & retracting! I certainly still don't understand how cat is testing higher than the tree pollen.
Her arm in in the air showing off a new pink/purple watch from Mimi, a gift for being a good girl at the allergist. (and wow, does it cut the crying time in half! I'll have to remember this in November when we come back for her food re-testing.)

Belly update-15 wks.

Had a check up this morning. Brooklyn sat next to me on the table & hold the ultrasound wand with the doctor as they listened for a heartbeat...had a huge smile on her face, but still clueless as to what this is all about. Heart rate is 145 bpm. Up 7 lbs total to date, & still feeling great. In fact, too great. I'm still anxious to actually feel pregnant. My next appointment is on 9/17, & this is where we have we hope our new little one is willing to share their gender with us. Stay tuned....

Matter of Fact & honest

B had a special coffee cake & apple slices for breakfast this morning. Everything was just sitting on her tray as it was the last for the last 5 minutes, as she sang twinkle, twinkle little star over & over. I said I'd be right back- I was going to brush my teeth. Came back, and her tray was empty.

'Brooklyn, did you give your breakfast to Allie? Where did it all go?"

"It's just right here mommy, in my seat!" as she moves to show me where she stuffed it.
We're about to wrap up what has been the hottest week in at least 3 years. Here are official highs at over the last 6 days:

Monday: 95
Tuesday: 97
Wednesday: 95
Thursday: 96
Friday: 96
Saturday: 94

HERE WE GROW AGAIN

So on Tuesday, we started calling our immediate family to announce we are expecting parents again!! And to answer all of those burning, girly, detailed questions I've been getting, here we go!
I'm due on 2/9/11. I found out 2 days before Father's Day, and took that test twice in disbelief. B & I went shopping for a way to share the news. On Fri., Sean had taken off work & we had gone to the zoo. He stopped in front of a stork & kept pointing it out to Brooklyn- I almost said something then, but figured the controlled environment of our house would be better- as I couldn't figure out what his reaction would be ( "ONE & DONE," remember.) Sunday evening on Father's Day, Brooklyn wore her Dr. Suess shirt that says "Thing 1," & we presented Sean with a tiny hat & booties that both said "Thing 2." I'm starting to cry at this point & his reaction: "This looks to small for her." OH LORD. Fast forward 2 minutes, & he says he's happy,& admitted he was starting to wonder if something up. And to answer the other question, NO, this wasn't planned. We had talked about the idea of it, but it had always been tabled for a 2011 discussion- we had actually been planning our fall 5 year anniversary trip & a ski trip for Christmas!
Can I tell yet? Umm yeah. and at a quicker rate than with #1. Out of the 4's, into the 6's & they're safety pinned. Heading into the 8's prob. next week, and then the super sexy elastic band pants! WOO_HOO!!! I've already hit the 6 lb gain mark at 14 weeks, where it took 17 weeks with Brooklyn. Room theme? 99.9% sure Dr. Suess collective. Names...so not mentally there yet! Gender....we'll have the option to find out end of Sept.; around 20 weeks. We'll be happy either way, happy & healthy is all we ask for!
Does Brooklyn understand what's going on? I don't know. I can tell you that before I even knew, she was super clingy, to the point of having trouble dropping her off at daycare without her crying. She did call us out in a way at daycare. I was asked if there was any correlation between us moving up our vacation & the fact that B was walking around saying 'brother, sister' over & over again. Sean keeps asking her both ways, because mostly, she'd just say what we said last. (Do you want a brother or a sister, a sister or a brother?) She has however, settled on brother recently. And.....the 5 people who have already put in their guess, have said brother too! What do I think? I don't know just yet, but its 2-1 for the old wives tales that it will be a girl (Chinese chart says girl, fast heartbeat of 163 says girl, but I craved potato chips w/ sour cream which says boy) We'll get another official poll going when we get closer to that doctor appointment. Did I leave anything out?? Oh....I feel great. If it wasn't for my expanding waist line, I still wouldn't know I was pregnant. (Thank you, God!)

This weeks' Brooklyn-isms'

1)B's daycare swears she has a mild case of the terrible twos' but her parents are certainly not happy with a report of 3 time outs over the last 5 days. Apparently, her & Madeline seem to fight over toys lately & 'someone' is grabbing toys back. When Brooklyn was finished with her last time out, they came over to get her out of the chair & told her if she could be nice & appologize to Maddie, that she could get down. Her response: "NO! I sit."
- no idea (sense sarcasm) where she gets this mind of her own & stubborness, so we told Godmother Mere-mere we were blaming her! ;)

2) When we tell family...& Allie....goodbye, in person or over the phone, we always say "Bye, see you soon, I love you, & blow them a kiss." We apparently also do this to airplanes in the sky!!

3) My daughter "dog called" me last night. Bent over, made the kissy noise & smacked her hands on her knees & said c'mere mommy. WHAT???? Sean had to walk around the corner he was laughing so hard.

Aquarium

Our first visit to an Aquarium was a lot of fun! She took her newly favorite kitty in with her to guard her from the sharks. Thank goodness its neck is still attached as well as mine b/c we were both death gripped as we walked thru the shark tunnels. Scuba divers were also in the tanks, cleaning the glass & waving to everyone, which she was also afraid of. Haven't figured that one out yet since all of her cousins swim with a snorkel & goggles every time.
Taking a hopping 20 mos. old down the path & up to a glass floor, & she will FREEZE! (Proves that study right!) As always, loves the turtles, & the jellyfish seemed to be of high interest as well too. All in all, the bigger the fish, the longer it took her to get close to the glass. Now, here's the funny part- ask her if she wants to touch a crab, starfish & shark, & she freely sticks her hand in the tank! She touched a shark twice, & I know her cousins were quite excited over they variety they came in contact with. It's a little bit blurry photo, but its' one where she's getting ready to pet her first shark. Lil diver(s) up ahead. (I somehow commited to a dive trip for the oldest 2 boys if they passed their scuba tests.)

Its the little things that warm your heart

Tonight, I was in the kitchen cooking dinner, & Brooklyn came in saying something I didn't understand. She reached for my hand & held it & then called for Sean to 'come here' waving her hand with her requested action motion. He came in the kitchen & she held his hand too & repeated what she had originally said. This time it was clearer: "fammy walk"......it was family walk time. :)

Daddy earns points

Amazon boxes at our door Monday was more computer books PLUS Elmo ABC's & a Flip Book! She was so excited. Homebody daddy also took her for a wagon ride thru the neighborhood & over to Mimi's for a swim party with her cousins. WAY TO GO, SEAN! :)
