This morning, I asked her if she would like some banana as I held it up, & she flaps her arms in excitement, saying "nanas." I'll count that as a new word! :) Yes, that is what my living room looks like on a regular basis; toys all over. The music table is still her fave. She loves when we sing the ABC's/123's & she bops up & down; it's too cute-especially with that big smile on her face.

Not too much new to report. We're trying to work on the sippy cup, but not too much interest. Now, if you have a cup in your hands, hold on to it tight, b/c she's all about tasting what you have!
Made our 1st trip up to Whole Foods. She has now tried her first cookie. Doesn't have the sweet tooth her mom has. Tried it; it does taste good.

Holy Cow! Another surprise package at the door!

So, I've learned in the past that actions trump words. Now I'm learning mommie-gut trumps actions. Turns out, Brooklyn did have another ear infection. (#3.) We drove out to Urgent Care last Sunday night for her diagnosis & meds. By Wed., we went back to her doctor because her nights & days were getting worse. Poor girl, turns out the Ammox wasn't working for, so they switched her out to something different. As of tonight, we are in a much better place!
On another good note, Sean is 'sans goat.' He shaved the goatee Th for an upcoming interview. He's so excited about the opportunity & we should know next week......that he got it (positive thinking only!) Brooklyn notices EVERYTHING. As soon as he turned his head to her when he finished, she grabbed at his chin. Mimi's hair color gets the once-over, and glasses never get to stay on my face.
She's very into cause & effect lately. Where my hand goes in her Elmo puppet book, how the spin & say animal sounds work, checking under the music table when it lights up, & going after her daddy's remote control & turning to hold it up to the TV & smiling. Lil stinker. She also crawls so far towards our tv stand & then stops & turns to see who's coming to get her & how fast before she b-lines to grab a knob before she's caught. She's funny, that's for sure. :)
So I had started whistling a few songs & well, make a new noise & she'll watch your mouth to see how you are forming your lips. Sure enough, she's whistling now! Sometimes she'll crawl & whistle as she goes by! Hopefully, we'll get it on video as we have a limited number who believe us when we tell them. (Luckily Mimi heard it when she was over here).

Yawnnnnn.......
I'm a bit on the sleepy side today. B fell asleep around 9 & woke crying @1:30. After another dose of Tylenol & rocking, she fell back asleep. But really she was awake until 4. Confused? See she's asleep if you're HOLDING her. We tried the heartbeat tape, the dolphin tape, Sean rubbing her back, my holding her hand, & all she did if we were not right there, was cry. And yes, we did let it go up to 1/2 hour, but since she was under the weather, we went back in. Then, we thought, hey....maybe she'll sleep with us tonight. That became crawlfest over daddy, talk to the dog, point at the fan & 'that' for another hour. Obviously she's acting like she feels better & the fever is gone, so back to her room we go so I can get some shut eye, but all that occurs is more crying. Finally, I picked her up & hold her upright on the couch & she falls asleep asap, death gripping my shirt for the next 3 hrs. I must admit, as tired as I was/am, I enjoyed every second of cuddling with her. I hope we get to do it again, but when she feels better.

9 mos check-up
Well, she is 18.74 lbs (43%) & 28.50 inches(75%). We did receive a referral to a nutritionist, just to make sure she's getting proper nutrients with her allergies. I had my first after hours call to the Peds doc tonight. She only received the Hep B shot, but after a 3 hr nap, woke with a fever above 103, & after a cool bath with Tylenol, she's still above 102.5. We've see how the overnight goes.

Easy Beez had no problem transitioning into her new daycare. Comes home still super smiley. I miss my morning chats @ Miss Niks though! I just finished switching out her wardrobe to 12 mos. Tonight we watched her try to stand... she got into a downward dog yoga pose, but can't quite pull it all together just yet. Hopefully her new music table will help her learn to pull up & walk around the table etc.
Also, somebody thinks her meal time should also include sharing with the dog! So not only does Allie lay under her chair, but now Brooklyn leans sideways to see her & she'll drop down a piece or two- look at me & laugh. I laughed, & of course she repeated the action. Couldn't help it, it was funny! Allie is not a fan of watermelon, or kiwi, but loves a green bean or chicken nibble.

Week in review
It's been a progressive week. Last Sunday, she started crawling using the ol' hands & knees. As of today, we only use the army crawl when we're tired...or trying to sneak up on the dog. B your daddy laughs at how you'll crawl up to the kitchen floor, sit up, then peak around the corner cabinet before you decide to go any further! He's been having crawling races with you in the living room, & lets just say your eczema is flared UP from all your activity. So much so, that you've been asleep before 8 almost every night this week.
We've also learned "Sooooo BIG!" Mimi was teaching her this on Wed & on Sat raised her arms the first time we asked her "How big are you?" Colors & shapes are becoming more of interest too. We both think she tried to say yellow tonight while playing with her stacking rings.
On the food front, we still seem to be running into contamination issues with cereals & meats. So, I bought my first whole chicken yesterday at the farmers market. Grass fed & minimally processed. And for the sake of looking back on this 30 yrs from now, it was $5.50/lb. Ouch. And yes, I also asked for FULL instructions on what the hell to do with it! As I'm learning to cook healthy for our family, it won't come without a few stumbling blocks.
Tomorrow we'll be heading out the door extra early, as its her 1st day with Miss Christine. A little excited, & a little nervous over the change, but a great step forward for our ever growing little sprout.
I'll try to upload a video of her crawling but its' a bit dark.

A surprise delivery!
Nothings' better than coming home from work & seeing a surprise package at your doorstep. At first the box itself was entertainment. We turned it over, scratched on the label, laughed...and then the 5 minutes was over. Inside were two new books, just perfect for her. Peek a boo is surely one of the fave games at the moment, & these books give her peek-a-boo animals & are feel n touch. I thought the fuzzy bear page would be her favorite, but she loves the pink pig! And when we're finished with the books, there's bubble wrap. A FULL evening of fun. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Boutelle!
