Well, we're still lacking an interest in crawling. In fact, if toys are out of reach, but still on her blanket, she has figured out that she can pull the blanket toward her & the toy comes with it, or she'll use another toy within reach to swat the one she wants & bring it closer to her. Lil booger, at least she's using her brain.
So, maybe she'll be one to skip crawling & just start walking. Here's a first attempt.
Ok, so this deserves a quick 2 minute time out from work calls. Sean just called to ask what B could have for lunch. All of a sudden I hear "Arggggg" & Sean is cracking up laughing! I have never heard him laugh so hard in the 14 years I've known him. This sound & laughter repeated 2 more times before he could even stop laughing enough to say what was going on. Apparently, she was up on his shoulder, & she lunged toward his face to chew on his nose! Said he was covered in slobber! Crazy babe! Someones' definately teething.

I found it!
So we're sitting on the front porch this morning, & Brooklyn is trying to chew on my finger. As soon as she did, I felt her bottom front tooth; it must have just broke thru! Bye- Bye my favorite gummy smile!

Food Allergies
The Internet is a powerful thing-lots of info out there; sometimes too much. Although we're still testing new foods, it seems thus far Lil B has a gluten allergy. Anything with barley, wheat, rye & recently discovered corn starch & malt in it, causes itchy/watery eyes & skin plus hives very quickly. Turkey isn't one of these I just listed is it? Nope. But she had the same reaction to Turkey & Sweet Potatoes. The only other thing this Gerber label says is added is water. However, upon reading, I discovered turkey contains preallergins such as dairy, wheat, corn, & soy.
Since she seems to be SO sensitive, & I'm still nursing, I'm going to try altering my diet as well to avoid gluten & see how this effects her. No pregnancy cravings, so I hope this won't be a big change for me either. Cross your fingers, but mostly that these are allergies she will outgrow quickly.

Waterbabies!
So today was Brooklyn's first day at the pool. It got up to 91 degrees today, so thankfully we got to Mimi's early. I held her at the step so she'd put her toes in first, & she pulled her feet up with a shiver. She put them back in again right away & didn't even squirm when we went to step #2. She loves the water!

My weekend
Well, here I am at my cousins baseball games. I'm hanging out with my Mimi & Aunt Mere this morning b/c my Da-da is taking his CCENT certification test. Afterwards, we went back to Mimi's where I had my lunch, and then tried a pumpernickle pretzel and....whoops! Here come those red blotches again. Guess I've got an alergy to something in these too. Off to a little water bath to sooth my sensitive skin. My mom will love figuring out this food alergy mystery; if there's barley in the pretzel- Snyders certainly didn't label it!

Why buy toys...

.... when you have Great-Grandma's draw-stings to chew on & play "gallop" or learn shuffle-ball change in the kitchen! G.G. was also here to see her start to stand, assisted of course! On her last night in town, every time G.G. started to talk during dinner, B "talked" louder than her. It was hysterical. Thanks for hanging out with me G.G., I love you. Come back anytime. And for those of you wondering why there's 4 photos....she's standing over my shoulder! :) Luv ya G-ma! :)

A quick trip to Indiana
Yesterday was a very long day. B & I made a 4 hr drive to Vincennes, IN to pick up Grandma, who was there for her sisters' 90th birthday. You've got longevity in your genes from both sides, Brooklyn. We met up with our cousins & headed to Bobes for some local pizza. This is your cousin Boone, who was born on Mommies' birthday! Just as we left the restaurant, I got news Sean was in a car accident on his was to the Coldplay concert. Sore & stiff, but ok. Thank God.
