Working on my tummy time

My first snow!

Well, we didn't last very long, 2 minutes at the most, because it was beginning to sleet. A few quick photos & a snow angel, then back inside to put on my warm crazy socks & play some more! A grand total of 9 inches of snow & 1.5 inches of ice. No "cabin fever" fever here, we enjoyed our time together.

Mom would like you all to know that my gurgles are now turning into giggles, chuckles, shrieks, & bubbles, & we are having a blast! I've been working on learning how to sit in my new chair, & I just L-O-V-E laying & kicking to watch wheels turn & colors light up! So much so, that I get tired & fall fast asleep. :) We're having crazy weather here....Friday it was 51 degrees, & today we're getting 8 inches of snow. I watched my neighbor snow-blow it, & my dog eat it, that I really don't know what to think of this white stuff. But, I'm going to go find out after I finish my nap.

Best present update: sleep! Brooklyn slept solid from just before midnight until 6:09 this morning!!! That's a new record.:)

Happy Birthday Mommy!

A mid-morning snack of chocolate cake & Samoas Ice Cream started off the day, thanks to my boss! Sean is currently fixing our steak dinner, while I blog this one handed with Brooklyn falling asleep in my other arm. This will probably be one of the last times I can lay her down to sleep in our purple chair, as she'll start to roll around soon enough. Lost season premier also starts tonight which is a present in & of itself. Year 33...here I come!

How Tall am I

Here's a few facial expressions from our little gabber. She's so excited to tell you that not only does her outfit say "How tall am I," but she is officially in 3-6 mos. clothes now. That goodness she has some cozy warm clothes b/c it has been so C-O-L-D here! -6 with wind chill yesterday. We prefer to stay inside & snuggle. :) If you click on the far right photo to make it bigger, I think you can see how long her eye lashes are getting. A few bats of those & daddy is whipped!

She slept thru her bath, until I went to pull the plug & let the water out. Then it became "splish spash I was taking a bath!"

New Discoveries

So I came home today, to see Brooklyn fascinated with something new. She was very happily sitting in her pumpkin seat cooing, laughing & pumping her arms up & down with excitement watching a Baby Einstein Beethoven DVD (in high def, of course!).
Last night, she discovered when we try to pull her bottle away once she falls asleep, she makes a clucking sound. It woke her up & she did it again on her own & just smiled at me! She showed off her new found noise to Mimi today when she came over. It is so much fun watching her learn new things!

Ouchie

Brooklyn's 2nd month check-up was destined to be a tearful day, possibly for both of us, as it involved a few needles. Not being a fan of them myself, Sean was called in for reinforcements. Although I didn't hide in the corner, I did hide behind him, & my own lip quivered as I watched Brooklyns' start to just before the big wail & her hot pink band-aids were put on. It seemed like eternity for her to settle down, and we finally decided to just put her in her car seat & head out & hope the motion of the car would settle her down. Before we got out the door, she was fast asleep! She slept on & off throughout the day, without a fever & the only side effect of a little bump behind the injection site. Whew, overall, a better day that I was expecting! She is now 12.25 lbs, & grew another inch (23). Back again in 2 months.

Back to work

Yesterday I shed a few tears in anticipation of how terrible today would be: my first day back to work. I was geared up with comments such as "I'm doing this for the financial well being of my family," and " I'm happy I have a job to go to," and Jeanne's W.O.W.-"I'm showing her good work ethics," to help get me thru the day, but turns out, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I attribute this mostly to the fact that she was sleeping when I left & didn't have to face her to say good-bye.
It's feels weird to be here & oddly normal-quickly back into the swing of it. Surprised I remembered all of my passwords! Well, here's to making a sale the first week back!

Happy New Year everyone!
I went to a party with my mom & dad tonight & got to hang out with my boyfriend, Eric, who's only 8 months older than me. He smiled at me for quite some time! His sister, Morgan, wore her Ariel princess crown & dress which I found very facinating. She laid on the floor, & we gabbed for a bit. I've made my new years resolutions: 1) stop filling my diapers 2) say "mama" before "dada" & 3)keep being happy. My parents may not always know what they're doing with me, but they sure do have fun trying!
