Baptism

Fr. Heitzman, who has performed every religious ceremony of mine other than my baptism, baptised Brooklyn this morning @ 11:30 where Sean & I got married. The church was beautiful. I fed her a bottle on the way there, but of course as soon as I got her out of the car seat & the ceremony started, she wanted more! Father poured water over her head, and she quieted down right away. Her baptismal gown was also the one I wore, which was from a petticoat of my great grandmother, and she had Seans' blanket from his baptism.

little Christmas

Christmas day celebrations continued today with family in from Florida, Colorado, Vermont & New York. We were SO HAPPY to have everyone here! We exchanged Secret Santas, & had a great dinner together, followed by an ice cream party with grandmas christmas wreaths, "$250" Neiman Marcus cookies & our Baileys' Irish fudge. When I win that lottery, we'll fly everyone in so we can spend time with everyone more often...and I'll hire a caterer. :)

Christmas Day

We have 'pajama brunch' at our house Christmas day, & this year we cozied up in our Grinch outfits! Allie & Asher cozied up with each other & shared some toys. Speaking of...Santa visited B & delivered a family membership to the zoo! She's also smitten with her new aquarium song & light mobile for her bed, as we as her giraffe rocker & pillow, which perfectly fit in with her jungle room! The rest of us kids, all over the age of 21!, played Rock Band the rest of the night. It made for another great year.

Christmas Eve

Our first Christmas Eve in Milford, & B slept all thru church. A very nice father of 3 girls who sat behind us was kind enough to compliment on how lucky I was. Quinton, Noah & Aydan continued their tradition of passing out their gifts from shopping @ Deals this year. After several photos sessions, her first diaper change from Auntie C, she quickly fell asleep.

My first stocking

Grandma & Grandpa Boutelle sent an early Christmas box with the cutest stocking- a singing dog with moving ears. So far, its her favorite toy. We have yet to hang it above the mantle since it works so well for tummy time & creating smiles!

Sleep at last

Not only have we made it into big girl britches (size 1), but we have slept for a 5 hour block two nights in a row! Granted that 5 hour block starts at midnight, after fighting sleep in the first place, but I'll take it! Great Grandma Wehry arrived today so I hope she's a little extra wore out for a long slumber tonight.

awareness

Brooklyn recently got an early Christmas present of a Christmas bear from G-pa Boutelle. I sat it in her room next to her changing station, and was surprised she noticed it right away. Forget "talking" to mom or dad, this bear is what she chose to have her 1st conversation with. It's amazing how much more she watches our mouths when we speak & tries to talk to us now.
This morning, I ran into her room to check on her-thinking she was sleeping longer than usual & wanted to make sure everything was ok. It was- in fact, she was wide awake, just laying there, looking at the tiger on her bumper.I stayed & watched her for awhile kick her legs & arms around in excitement-just enjoying the moment. For the first time, I realized how little time I have left at home with her before I go back to work.

time to learn to shop!

Our first shopping outing took us to Florence Mall for some new window treatments. I was gone for 3 hours- and shopped for maybe 45 minutes. The rest was nursing, changing, or soothing someone for her first trip down the aisles in her new stroller. She wore her first pair of shoes for the occasion..notice the soccer balls on them! Thank goodness online shopping exists, I got a feeling that's how it'll get done this year.

1 month old

I can't believe she's a month old already. We started off our day with a 1 month doctor checkup. Weighing in @ exactly 10 lbs, she's in the 71% for weight, & 22 inches long. He said she's looking good & was impressed he witnessed 2 of her milestones- holding her head up & smiling. It was 19 degrees when we left the house so she had to be bundled up nice & snug! You can't see it in the photo, but her snuggly suit has ears at the top! It's so cute. This is the best photo I captured this morning of her smiles. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. :)
