Girlfriends' Shower

A big thank you to Paula, Nikki & Julie for hosting my shower last night. I started out by nibbling (ok, pigging out!) on all the delicious food everyone made. The shower had a book theme to it, so the first gift I opened was our daughters' baby book & Mothers' survival guide filled with tips! Each of my friends also gave us a new book for her library, many of which were their childrens' favorites. On top of that, they created a scrapbook where everyone designed a month w/calendar pages & a photo page to preserve memories of her first year! Paula even held a photo shoot! Little peanut apparently didn't like the blocks on my belly b/c she kept moving all around which wouldn't allow the camera to focus! It didn't seem late, but it was around 11:30 when everyone started to head out. The night was filled with too many special memories & stories to list; you'll just have to read about belly button artwork & hand knit blankets in her baby book when you come to visit!
Girls, thanks so much for all you have shared with me over the past 19 years. I can only hope our daughter is as lucky to have wonderful friends like I do!

Pregnancy is weird

The few bouts of pregnancy brain & leg cramps make sense, but I never thought soreness in my thumb & finger joints would be one to expect! Other than the return of the 3am nature call, everything's been smooth! I went for my 33 week check-up Monday morning and for my other surprise, he mentioned we can start talking 'delivery' in as early as 3 weeks. YIKES! Do you ever feel fully ready? I've gained 22.6 lbs to date, & the baby is close to 4 lbs herself. We would have blogged sooner, but hurricane IKE had power knocked out for the last 3 days! There's a lot going on this weekend so stay tuned...

Names

The question I get asked most often lately is 'What IS her name?" For several weeks after I felt her first movements, I'd call her my little wiggle worm. However, after this last week, I've changed it to Pokeyma'am! No longer do I need to see a scary movie to jump 5 feet in the air...just be in the middle of a conversation w/ a client, or about to fall asleep & here comes that little finger or toe with a quick tap on my far right side! If we've talked to you on the phone, you may have heard us call her "je m'appelle"- simply stated: "My name is!"
Now if you are reading this, just dying to know what her formal name WILL be, you'll find out soon enough....on her birthday!

Dear Sean,
I love you with all of my heart and I can not believe we have now been married for 3 years! (Together for 13) You are my best friend and soul mate and I love spending every day with you. I look forward to all of our adventures together throughout the rest of our lives. You are a wonderful husband and soon to be amazing father.
